From the President

Hello and welcome to the KABS website. The Kentucky Association of Blind Students is a group of visually impaired and blind students in Kentucky.

Our purpose is to be a collective vehicle of self expression, which strives to create equality and opportunity in the classroom and in the community, change attitudes and misconceptions about visual impairment and blindness and through local and national seminars we experience first hand the innovative and positive philosophy of blindness of the National Federation of the Blind.

If you've ever wondered about more effective ways to do things such as taking notes in class, doing everyday things like shopping, traveling, and reading, then you've found the right place to begin learning all this and more. The truth is that there are better and more efficient ways to do these things and we can help you learn how. We have members all over the state and we will be happy to put you in touch with someone if you'd like more information.

On behalf of the KABS Board of Directors I would like to welcome you to our website. On this site you'll find lots of interesting information and useful links. Please take a look around and if you have any questions please feel free to email me at mpeskoe@insightbb.com.

Sincerely,

Melanie Peskoe, President
Kentucky Association of Blind Students
